All Teachers and Instructors are fully qualified in their specialised area, enhanced CRB checked, first aid qualified and (where required) have comprehensive public liability insurance and insurance to teach exercise and movement to those attending.

Karen

Karen started Musical Hands in September 2008 and since then it has grown enough to enable more teachers to come on board with Karen. As well as being the owner, Karen also teaches the baby signing, toddler & pre-school sing, dance & sign and the mother & baby yoga classes.

Karen trained from an early age in dance and drama and has spent the majority of her professional career in the performance industry.

Her career credits include commercials, films, television, (Mostly on Cbeebies!), theatre and Arena productions, both in the UK and overseas. Karen is also a partner in 'Arts Management Agency' which places performers into professional theatre and television productions.

Karen is married with two little girls - ages 2 and 5.

Karen has gained certification in Makaton Signing and successfully passed the Makaton signing for babies programme, which enables her to be a fully licensed early year's signing tutor. She is enhanced CRB checked, qualified in early years first aid and now half way through studies towards a baby yoga & massage Diploma, with Birthlight.

Gemma

Gemma teaches the baby signing and the toddler & pre-school sing, dance & sign classes.

Gemma has a varied skill set having worked in the travel industry for many years as well as in sales and marketing and also for a training Company.

She is well travelled and has been lucky enough to have visited places like the Maldives, San Francisco, Florida and Mexico!

Gemma regularly takes Body Jam and Body Attack Classes.

Gemma is married with a 5 year old Daughter and 2 Year old son.

She has recently completed her signing training programme and has successfully passed all of her assessments to be able to teach signing to early year's children, with Musical Hands. She is enhanced CRB checked and qualified in first aid.

Laura

Laura teaches the pregnancy exercise, post-natal exercise & buggy boot camp classes.

Laura is a qualified personal trainer, nutritional adviser and an ante & post natal specialist, which is where her passion lies.

Laura is a mother to 1 year old Lily and had baby Lola on 15 December 2009.

She also has her first aid qualifications and is CRB checked.

Laura has designed bespoke classes based on her own experiences as she knows first hand how hard it is to stay active during your pregnancy and especially how hard it is to get back into shape afterwards.

Karen Brown

Karen will be joining us in January in 2010 and will be teaching the baby signing and the toddler & pre-school sing, dance & sign classes.
