ABOUT THE MUSICAL HANDS TEACHERS:

Karen:

Karen teaches the baby signing, toddler & pre-school sing, dance & sign and the baby yoga classes.

Karen trained from an early age in dance & drama and has spent the majority of her professional career in the performance industry.

Her performing credits include commercials, films, television, theatre and Arena productions both in the UK and Australia. Karen is also a partner in an Agency who place performers into professional productions all over the world. Karen still performs in and choreographs many productions around Musical Hands and her family commitments.

Karen has gained a certification in Makaton Signing and successfully passed the Makaton signing for babies' programme, which enables her to be a fully licensed, early year's signing tutor in West Sussex. She also has dance qualifications with I.S.T.D (Imperial Society of Teachers & Dance) and R.A.D (Royal Academy of Dance) and a baby yoga diploma.

Laura:

Laura joined Musical Hands in June 2009.

She currently teaches the pregnancy exercise, post-natal exercise & adult body blitz boot camp.

Laura is a qualified personal trainer, nutritional adviser and an ante & post-natal specialist. (Please contact Musical Hands if you would like to enquire about a Personal Training Session with Laura.)

Laura has designed bespoke classes based on hers and other Mother's experiences of pregnancy and the effects it has on your body and especially for how hard it is to get back into shape afterwards.

Laura has recently launched an adult boot camp which is aimed to tone and aid weight loss with 2 classes a week and regular checks on your BMI and inch loss measurements.

Karen & Laura are currently working together, with other professionals, on a brand new and exciting 'Move & Groove' class that will be lively, energetic & fun!! For parents with their babies or toddlers and for pre-school children on their own!!

Karen Brown:

Karen joined Musical Hands in January 2010.

Karen is currently on maternity leave, but when she returns to Musical Hands she will be teaching baby signing and the toddler/pre-school sing, dance & sign classes.

Karen has studied dance, drama and singing from an early age and also has National Diploma in Performing Arts.

Karen is also a children's singing teacher, part of a vocal group, works for Crawley Council and takes part in Amateur Dramatic Productions.

Kelly:

Kelly started teaching for Musical Hands in April 2010.

She currently teaches the baby signing and private nursery classes and also takes some of the pre-school sessions in the local schools.

Kelly has a varied career history but has always worked with the public or with children - including being a children's party entertainer - Which is why Kelly hosts the Musical Hands parties!

Kelly has completed a comprehensive in-house training programme to teach for Musical Hands and has also been successfully assessed in Makaton Signing, for early year's children.

Kelly plans to train in Baby Yoga in the near future, to be able to also teach these classes.

Kelly will be covering Karen Brown's maternity leave.
